About Provoke & Inspire
How it all started, and what team are you on?
Born from Chad’s passionate endeavors of Come&Live! and the global ministry of Steiger International, the Provoke & Inspire Podcast features lively discussion centering around how to faithfully follow Jesus in a post-Christian world.
Today, Provoke & Inspire continues to challenge and encourage followers of Jesus through the voices of Ben Pierce, Chad Johnson, David Pierce, and Luke Greenwood, blending decades of front-line ministry experience with a heartfelt commitment to dialoguing about how Jesus might respond to current cultural events.
Ben’s Story
Ben Pierce is an author, speaker, and content creator for Steiger International - a worldwide missions organization dedicated to reaching and discipling the Global Youth Culture. He is the creative director for an evangelistic band and hosts the popular Provoke & Inspire Podcast. He regularly speaks at churches, conferences, universities, and seminaries worldwide.
Ben teaches a specialized course called Jesus in the Secular World, which provides an in-depth understanding of the secular mindset and practical ways to engage a culture dominated by secularism and moral relativism relevantly. He has authored a book by the same title.
Luke’s Story
As the European Director for Steiger, Luke’s vision is to see Jesus proclaimed to young people all over the continent, and to establish dynamic, long-term City Teams in key urban centers that reach and equip the Global Youth Culture through creative evangelism, ongoing discipleship, and local church partnership.
In 2019, Luke authored the book, "Global Youth Culture: The Spiritual Hunger of the Largest Unreached Culture Today." He is the frontman and singer of the evangelistic band The Unrest.
David’s Story
In the early 1980s, at the height of the European punk rock movement, David Pierce started a Bible study on a barge (called Steiger 14) behind Central Station in Amsterdam, Holland, reaching disenfranchised young people of that city. It was there that David started a band called "No Longer Music" (No Longer Music) as a tool to communicate the Gospel of Jesus to these young people who would never step foot into a church.
Since then, David has taken the message of Jesus to some of "the darkest corners of society", including closed Islamic countries, terrorist clubs, squatter villages, anarchy festivals, brothels, junkie joints, punk & goth music festivals, Satanist clubs and New Age gatherings.
David has seen many thousands find Jesus and his efforts have served as a catalyst for a wave of new ministries, churches, and missionaries that have grown into a global, interconnected missions organization called "Steiger International." Steiger is called to reach and disciple the Global Youth Culture for Jesus.
In recent years, David has been able to penetrate and effectively reach the "globalized muslim youth", a demographic of millions of young (17-35 years of age), educated, and highly influential Muslims across the Middle East who have become increasingly influenced by globalization and engaged in the global network of communication, music, art and media.
Chad’s Story
Chad Johnson's path through the music industry is marked by innovation and a deep sense of purpose. At Tooth & Nail Records, his eye for talent brought bands like Underoath and mewithoutYou into the limelight, significantly shaping the indie music scene. However, it was with the establishment of Come & Live! where Chad truly pursued his vision.
Come & Live! was envisioned as more than just a record label—it was a mission-driven community aimed at supporting artists in their creative and spiritual endeavors. This initiative saw a pivotal moment when Come & Live! integrated into Steiger, a global mission organization, further expanding its reach and impact. Following this integration, the Provoke & Inspire podcast emerged. Chad became a key member of the podcast team, contributing to discussions that challenge, uplift, and inspire listeners through the lens of faith and culture today.

Steiger mobilizes followers of Jesus to reach young people who would not walk into a church.
What started out as a dynamic ministry reaching young people of Amsterdam has grown into a worldwide mission organization active in over 120 cities around the globe.
Today, we bridge the gap between the Church and the Global Youth Culture by:
- Mobilizing the next generation of Christian leaders and influencers to impact secular culture
- Establishing long-term missionary teams that reach and disciple the Global Youth Culture
- Training the Church to reach the secular culture of their communities
Our vision is to raise up a radical missionary movement that will transform the Global Youth Culture for Jesus.
Thousands of lives are being transformed all over the world by the power of the Gospel.
Jesus said there is a great harvest and few workers.
